Why You Still Think About Your Exes

Man and woman getting sexy in limousineWhy you still think about your exes days, months and even years after you broke up with them, even when you are dating someone new. What this means and how you can use it as fuel to get what you really want. Why settling for someone that is less than you know you deserve will never make you happy and only leave you with regrets.

In this video coaching newsletter I discuss an email from a viewer who still thinks about his ex girlfriend. He keeps comparing the women he currently dates to his ex-girlfriend and how beautiful and hot she was. He says his ex is bad news, but he can’t help but still think of her. He is fearful now that he is in his early thirties that women in their twenties will think he is too old for them. What’s really going on is that he has some limiting beliefs that are interfering with his ability to go for what he really wants and instead settle for mediocrity.

“The reason we continue to think about former lovers long after the relationship or romance ended, even though we may be dating someone new and exciting, is because on some level your current lover does not fulfill you in the same way. What you are missing is the feeling you felt with this former lover, but not necessarily actually missing them. The goal is to improve yourself and your skills after a relationship ends so you can grow into the fullness of what you are capable of becoming to attract someone even better and more fulfilling for you. As you gain life experiences you want to continue to date up, not down or at the same level. Human beings are designed to expand just like nature. When something stops growing in nature, it dies. That’s something to think about.” ~ Coach Corey Wayne
